Check your device before you leave the counter

Ten minutes at the counter beats a second trip across the city. Pick the repair you had, tick each check as you go, and raise anything that is not right before you walk out — with us or with anyone else.

Whatever was repaired

Four things to do every time

  1. Ask which part was fitted — new, used or non-original — and make sure it matches what you agreed.
  2. Get the repair and its warranty on your receipt: what was replaced, and what the warranty covers and for how long.
  3. Put your own SIM, case and screen protector back on before you leave, and check nothing presses on the new part.
  4. If anything feels different from before, say so at the counter. It is much easier to sort out there and then.

The device’s own record

Where repairs show up

iPhone 11 and later (except the SE): Settings → General → About → Parts and Service History lists replaced parts such as the battery, display and cameras. Apple marks each as Genuine, Used (iPhone 15 and later with iOS 18 and later), Unknown, or Finish Repair while calibration is still outstanding. Apple’s explanation of each label is on our iPhone screen replacement page.

Mac with Apple silicon on macOS Tahoe 26 or later: System Settings → General → About → Parts & Service. It appears only when the Mac detects that a qualifying part has been repaired. If it offers Restart & Finish Repair, the part has not been calibrated yet; Apple’s Repair Assistant completes it. Apple also notes that a part taken from another Mac could be locked to someone else’s Apple Account — another reason to know what was fitted.
