About the shop
NYC MacBook Repair is an independent repair counter on Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, inside Jay Fix Phone & Computer. We concentrate on MacBooks and fix iPhones, Android phones and Windows laptops on the same bench.
How we work
Four things we hold to
One thing, done well
Most of our bench time goes on MacBooks. That focus is why the common screens and batteries are already on the shelf when you walk in.
Price first
You hear the price for your exact model before any repair work starts. If the quote changes once the case is open, you hear that too — before we continue.
Straight about the odds
Some repairs are not worth paying for. When a Mac is not worth fixing, we say so rather than take the job.
Warranty explained up front
Some repairs carry our own warranty and some parts carry the supplier’s. You are told which, and for how long, before you agree.
Who comes in
From across the city
Plenty of our customers live or work in Long Island City, Hunters Point and Astoria. Many more come from Manhattan, one stop away on the 7, and from Greenpoint, Williamsburg and the rest of Brooklyn along the G. Same-day repair is worth a short trip.
We are open every day from 10 AM to 9 PM, so a cracked screen on a Saturday or a spill on a Sunday evening does not have to wait for the working week.
The fine print
Independent, and proud of it
We are an independent repair shop. We are not an Apple Store, not an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc. “MacBook”, “MacBook Air”, “MacBook Pro” and “iPhone” are Apple’s trademarks; we use them only to say which devices we repair.
If your Mac is under warranty or AppleCare+, Apple may be the better place to take it. Our guide on Apple Store versus independent repair explains when.
